The Men's Volleyball team runs their win streak to three games while the Women's Volleyball team picked up their first win of the season this past weekend. The Royals traveled north to Sudbury to face the Cambrian Golden Shield Friday night and the Boreal Vipers on Saturday. The Royals took 3 of 4 matches with the only loss coming for the women against Cambrian 3-1.
Starting the season 0-3, the Lady Royals were able to finally get on the board on Saturday with a 3-1 win against the Vipers. Having played in a number of tight matches to start 2017, the Royals were able to close out Saturday's match and gain a valuable 3 points.Â
On the men's side, the Royals swept their competition on the weekend, not dropping a set, defeating both the Shield and Vipers 3-0.
The two victories for the men puts their record a 3-1, with their only loss coming to Humber in the season opener.
Next up, the Royals will return home for a pair of back-to-back matches on Friday and Saturday.
Redeemer opens the weekend Friday night when they host the St. Clair Saints. The men currently sit 3-1, identical record to Redeemer, while the women's team also has just one loss with a 3-1 record.Â
On Saturday, the Royals welcome the undefeated Fanshawe Falcons (5-0) on the men's side. Fanshawe's women's team has dropped just one match this season, at 4-1.Â
