"Whatever You Do..."

Redeemer Royals set to Launch Respect Campaign

The Redeemer Royals are set to launch a brand new Campaign next September that focuses on Respect in Sport. The Campaign was designed by Redeemer's Women's Soccer team and will be implemented in the Fall. The Athletic Department put out a challenge to it's varsity teams to develop a Campaign that dealt with Respect in Sport and the Lady Royals soccer team was declared the winner of the contest!

The Campaign will be centered around the tagline, "Whatever you do..." with the purpose being to be a school community that emphasizes respect throughout our behaviors, actions, and thoughts; all in order to bring glory to God. The tagline was originated from two verses in the Bible from Colossians 3:23-24 which says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

The Campaign will be promoted through print, web, video, and social media with the purpose of targeting Redeemer's athletes, Redeemer's fans, Redeemer's student body, as well as opponents and visitors to Redeemer's campus; all with the hope of making a difference at Redeemer and across the province. The majority of the campaign's content will come from ideas and design that was developed by the Women's Soccer team. The team came up with a great poster concept, two video storyboards, a way to integrate the campaign using social media, a webpage (RedeemerRoyals.ca/respect which will launch in September), as well as a partnership with the Loyal Royals. Another element they developed was the 'Rated R' logo. The logo will be placed on all promotional material suggesting that the content or location is Rated R, meaning that it is a Respectful Zone.

Other strong Campaigns were presented by other varsity teams including the 'Good Game Campaign' and the 'Cheer For Not Against Campaign.

For their winning ideas, the Women's Soccer team will receive a two day/one night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark Resort in Niagara Falls. The team will be staying in the Lodge Suites and will have two days of waterpark access as well as spending money.

Stay tuned for the launch of the Campaign next fall!
