Redeemer Royals Welcome Dynamic Winger Leandro Alves to Men's Soccer Team
Ancaster, ON – The Redeemer Royals Men's Soccer team is thrilled to announce the signing of Leandro Alves, an exceptionally talented left and right winger, to their roster for the upcoming 2024 season. Hailing from Milton, Ontario, and an alum of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School, Alves brings a high level of skill, versatility, and passion for the game to the Royals.
Before joining the Royals, Alves showcased his talents at Burlington OPDL and Croatia Norval. His performance on the field didn't go unnoticed, and he earned call-ups to the Norval U21 team this past season. There, he would impress with his agility, speed, and keen sense of the game, which caught the eye of Head Coach Matt Hahn.
When asked about his move to the Redeemer Royals, Alves expressed his enthusiasm for joining the team: "What excites me the most is knowing how close of a squad Redeemer is, and just getting to be a part of it is something special." This sense of community and belonging is a major draw to the program, signaling his eagerness to integrate into the Royals' culture and contribute to its success on and off the pitch.
Alves also shared how his faith will play a pivotal role during his tenure as a student-athlete at Redeemer. "My faith has always greatly impacted everything I do, whether on the field or off. I know God is with me every step of the way and is there to lead me on the path to success for His Glory." This faith-driven approach to life and soccer aligns perfectly with the Redeemer Royals' values and mission.
The coaching staff and team members eagerly anticipate Alves's energy, skill, and spirit. His ability to play both wings adds a versatile threat to the Royals' attacking options, and his commitment to faith and community strengthens the team's bond.
Coach Hahn commented, "We can't wait to see him take the field. His love for the game, ability on the ball, and passion to grow in his faith and be part of what we are doing here are a great fit. Alves will have a great career as a Royal and should have the fans excited with his quick feet and top-end speed".
