The Women's Basketball team continued their struggle to find the win column this weekend despite playing well in a pair of games on the road. The Lady Royals traveled to Sarnia Friday night to play the Lambton Lions (3-3) and Saturday to Windsor to play the St. Clair Saints (3-3).
The Royals got out to a quick start on Friday in the game against the Lions and held the lead through parts of the 1st quarter. However, depth has hurt the women's team throughout the season as a number of key players are injured, and Friday was no different. Lambton was able to sustain pressure throughout the entire game and the Royals were unable to muster a whole lot of offense in the second half. Lambton sealed the victory with a big start to the second half and taking the game by a final of 77-48.
Esther Weima (Nepean, ON) had a career game for the Royals with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Weima led all scorers. Melanie Bouchard had a team high 15 points for Lambton.
Saturday's result against St. Clair was very similar to Friday's games as the Royals lost 77-41. Esther Weima once again led Redeemer in scoring with 11 points.
Lindsay Balch (Osgoode, ON) and
Lindsay Balch (Osgoode, ON) each chipped in with 8 points for the Royals. Kaylee Williams had a game high 17 points for St. Clair.
The Lady Royals know turn their attention to Saturday November 26th when they return home for an afternoon game against the Niagara Knights. Game time is 2:00pm!
