The Redeemer Women's Basketball program enters the Christmas Break with their best record since the 2003 season. Above .500 for the first time since 2003 after first semester play, the Lady Royals boast arguably their best record in program history having collected 5 league wins prior to January. Redeemer topped the Lambton Lions on Tuesday night 77-62 and now sit 6 points ahead of them in the standings for a playoff spot.
Jesseca Brown continued her strong 2016 with a game-high 33 points, 2 points shy of the Redeemer Women's Basketball record, established by Brown last season.
Last season, the Royals narrowly missed out on a playoff spot, finishing 2 points out of 6th place. They will now face the prospect of competing in their first playoff game in program history if the Royals can keep pace in the West Division. After seeing continual improvement over the last 7 years since Coach Hooper joined the coaching staff, competing in the playoffs would be a huge step forward for the program.
Redeemer opens up the 2nd half on January 11th at Humber College.
