The Redeemer Royals came back from a two set deficit to defeat the Humber Hawks, 3-2, in the Consolation Final of the OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship, presented by belairdirect.
The Royals won 20-25, 19-25, 25-14, 25-18, 15-10, at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Saturday (Feb. 25).
Royal's Player of the Game,
Morgan Rutledge, had 17 kills and one stuff block. Brady DeBoer came up with seven kills, one service ace and four stuff blocks, while
Shawn Brus recorded seven kills.
Reuben Middel had 29 assists, while
Pearson Stiller added 19.
Eli Tolkamp contributed 15 digs.
For Humber, Clayton Blanchette produced 14 kills and one block. Michael Majcen had 10 kills and one block and Alex Gibbs scored eight kills and one block. Adam Kinoshita had five kills to go with 30 assists and was named Humber's Player of the Game.Â
With the win, the Royals finished 5th overall in the Province.Â
