The OCAA weekend visitors to the Redeemer Athletic Centre narrowly avoided a sweep at the hands of the Royals on Friday and Saturday. Redeemer's women's and men's volleyball teams knocked off 3 out of 4 wins in the programs first homestand of 2018.
The men's volleyball team captured their 8th and 9th wins of the season with victories against Boreal (3-0) on Friday and Cambrian (3-0) on Saturday.
The lone loss of the weekend came at the hands of the Cambrian women's volleyball team as they overcame a strong start by Redeemer to win 3-1. The Lady Royals swept the Boreal Vipers on Friday night 3-0.Â
Redeemer now has a busy week moving forward with matches on Thursday and Saturday.
On Thursday, the Royals travel to Fanshawe to take on the top ranked Falcons. The men's team sits undefeated at 11-0 while the women's team only has one loss at 10-1.Â
Then on Saturday, the Royals make the short drive to Oakville for an evening matchup against the Sheridan Bruins. The Lady Bruins currently sit at 6-5 in the OCAA while the men's team is 5-6.Â
