Still searching for their first win of the season, the Redeemer Royals Women's Volleyball team will have to wait at least one more week. The Royals dropped a 3-0 decision Friday night to Hamilton neighbour Mohawk College.
The highly anticipated meeting between the Hamilton rivals got off to a incredible start. The large crowd at Redeemer provided an energetic atmosphere and they were rewarded with a thrilling first set. After 3 set points for Redeemer, Mohawk found a way to squeak out a first set win by a score of 30-28.
Unfortunately for Redeemer, after dropping the first set, it was all Mohawk for the remainder of the match. A deflated Royals fell behind early in the 2nd set and the visitors cruised to a 25-12 win. The 3rd set saw the Royals match the Mountaineers point for point, much like the first set. However, up 19-17 late in the 3rd, Mohawk pulled away to win the set 25-20 and the match 3-0.
1st year

Redeemer will have the week off to prepare for a Friday night tilt at Niagara College against the Knights. The Knights are 3-2 and have won their last two matches. First serve is at 6:00pm.
