The Redeemer Royals were knocked out of contention for the OCAA Gold Medal with a loss Friday night in their Championship Semi Final match. Redeemer dropped the semi to the Fanshawe Falcons who move on to play for Gold.
With the win the Falcons were able to keep their perfect season record intact to win in three straight sets 3-0 (25-20, 25-9, 25-18).
Linden Bontkes (Langley, BC) was named player of the game for Redeemer with seven kills and two blocks in the game.
The Royals will move onto play in the bronze medal game at
2 p.m. on Saturday where they will meet the host Georgian Grizzlies. Redeemer will be searching for their first OCAA medal since 2013 when they won bronze.
