The Redeemer Royals Women's Basketball team dropped another close contest Tuesday night against the Conestoga Condors. A rare Tuesday night matchup, Redeemer was home for their second home game of the season after falling to the Mountaineers on the road this past weekend.
Redeemer has now dropped their last two games by a total of just 7 points. After a 4-point loss to Mohawk on Friday night, Conestoga did just enough Tuesday in a 75-73 victory.
While the Royals have battled closely in their last two matches, the enter the weekend with nothing to show for it in the OCAA standings. Redeemer will search for their first win Friday night when they get another chance in front of their home crowd against the Lambton Lions.
Despite winning the last 3-quarters on Tuesday night, Redeemer couldn't overcome a 15-4 deficit from the first quarter. Knocking down just one field goal in the first quarter, the hole was to deep for the Royals to come out of.
Jessica Angelini hit 6 3-pointers in the contest to keep the Royals in the match, but some costly turnovers by Redeemer late in the 4th quarter ultimately did them in. Angelini finished with a team-high 23 points.
Jamila Beckford had a game-high 27 points for the Condors in the win.
