The Redeemer Royals Women's Volleyball team was eliminated from the 2019 playoffs Saturday with a 3-1 loss to the Durham Lords.
Redeemer was on the road against the undefeated Lords in Saturday's OCAA Playoff Crossover match in Oshawa. Redeemer advanced to the Playoff crossover, finishing in 7th place in the OCAA West with a record of 6-12. The Royals were in tough against the first place team from the OCAA East, with an undefeated record of 18-0.
After dropping the first two sets 25-20 and 25-21, the Royals impressed in the 3rd, winning 25-20, giving the visitors some life. However, any momentum the Royals were able to grab in the 3rd, quickly disappeared with a big run for the Lords to start the 4th. The Lords eventually won the 4th, 25-15 to advance to the OCAA Championship.
In her first playoff game for the Royals,
Jasmyn Stoffers wrecked havoc for the Lords. Stoffers finished with 11 kills, 6 aces, and 12 digs and led all scorers with 17 points.Â
Durham will move on to face the Championship host, Cambrian Golden Shield, Friday when Provincials gets underway.Â
