STOFFERS SETS NEW ROYALS ACES IN A MATCH RECORD, TIES OCAA MARK

Redeemer's Jasmyn Stoffers has 13 aces in Women's Volleyball win to open 2020

2020 has started well for Redeemer Royals Women's Volleyball player Jasmyn Stoffers. Stoffers was dialed in Friday night in Redeemer's opening match of the 2nd semester at home against the Boreal Vipers.

The Women's Volleyball star finished the night with 13 aces, tied for the most ever in an OCAA match. She also improved on Redeemer's record of 10 aces in a match set last January by current Women's Volleyball player Abby Sluys

Jasmyn's impressive effort came in just 3 sets against the visiting Vipers as she finished with a 4.3 ace per set average. She completed the match with just 1 service error. Stoffers sits alone at the top of the league for aces so far this season with 37.

The record breaker also added 9 kills for 22 total points.

The Royals won the match 3-0 with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 25-15.

The Royals completed a weekend back-to-back, squaring off against the Cambrian Golden Shield on Saturday. The Royals once again won in straight sets, defeating the visitors 3-0 with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-19.

After sitting out Friday night, Redeemer's Abby Sluys dominated the match on Saturday. Sluys finished with 20 kills in just 3 sets. Abby had just 3 errors on 41 attacks.

With the pair of victories, the Royals improved their record to 6-5.

Redeemer will be on the road for the first time in 2020 as they travel to Oakville on Saturday to face the Sheridan Bruins. Redeemer won their first semester match against the Bruins at home on November 6th 3-0.
