3 WINS IN LAST 4 FOR MENS' BASKETBALL AS ROYALS TOPPLE LIONS IN KEY ROAD WIN

Redeemer defeats the Lambton Lions on the road to open 2020

The Redeemer Royals Men's Basketball team took it all in on Friday night, hitting the road to Sarnia for a matchup against the Lambton Lions. An important trip for the Royals, Redeemer got a preview of the 2020 OCAA Men's Basketball Championship venue.

With aspirations of qualifying for their 4th consecutive OCAA Championship, Redeemer was able to pick up a strong road win at the host site of the Final 8 against a team that will be at the 2020 event. The Royals won the game 87-77 in a defensive showdown between both teams.

With the win, Redeemer has swept the season series against the Lions, winning Friday night as well as an OT victory in Ancaster on November 1st.

Redeemer once again proved they are one of the deepest teams in the league Friday night as 11 players contributed offensively in the game. With the key departure of William Lara-Caston this semester, Foster Brown stepped up to provide the offensive. Finishing with 23 points, Brown was locked in, shooting 10 of 14 from the field, grabbing 6 rebounds, and adding 5 assists. Spencer Kerssies added 14 points and 7 rebounds.

The win was Redeemer's 7th of the season, running their record to 7-3, keeping pace in the tough OCAA West Conference. The 14 points keeps the Royals in the top 4, tied with Sheridan for the 4th spot.

Redeemer will now have a week off as they prepare for the Sault Cougars, visiting Friday and Saturday. The Cougars come to Ancaster with a 1-10 record.
