Redeemer men's volleyball blanks Vipers 3-0
The Redeemer University men's volleyball team (1-1 OCAA) defeated the Boreal Vipers in straight sets 25-14, 25-15 and 25-15 on the road Friday night.
The Royals had four players in double figures led by second year Ben Siebenga (Belleville, ON) who recorded a career best 17 kills, three aces and two blocks. He finished with a .600 hitting percentage. Second year Jonathan Tigchelaar (Guelph, ON) added 13 kills on 17 attempts for a .706 hitting percentage. First year Gannon Hart (Ottawa, ON) and second year Murray Greydanus (Gowanstown, ON) both chipped in with 10 kills each. Fourth year Josiah Siebenga (Belleville, ON) added six kills and a career high six aces. Second year setter Jared Prinsloo (Burnaby, BC) finished with 16 assists and three aces in the victory.
For the match, Redeemer hit .546 finishing with 63 kills with 10 errors on 97 attempts. Boreal added seven kills with 15 errors on 39 attempts for a minus .205 hitting percentage.Â
The Royals are in action tomorrow at 3pm when they take on the Cambrian Golden Shield in Sudbury. Â
