Royals women's volleyball sweeps Sheridan 3-0

OAKVILLE, ON - The Redeemer University women's volleyball team improved to 4-2 in the OCAA West Division as they defeated the Sheridan Bruins in straight sets (25-21, 25-15, 26-24) Wednesday night on the road.
Leading the Royals offense was first year
Kate DeJong (St. Thomas, ON) who recorded eight kills and seven digs. First year
Avery Surette (Barrie, ON) contributed with seven kills and eight digs while second year
Rachel Annett (Melbourne, ON) added four kills and eight digs. Second year setter
Julia Koksanowicz (Hamilton, ON) registered 24 assists while second year libero
Carlene Cecchelli (Hamilton, ON) collected a match high 14 digs in the victory.
Sheridan was led by Madison Forrest who finished with six kills and 10 digs in the loss.
For the match, Redeemer hit .078 adding 26 kills with 17 errors on 115 attempts. The Bruins recorded 17 kills with 13 errors on 81 attempts for a .049 hitting percentage.
The Royals return to action this Saturday, November 19th at 1pm when they host the Niagara College Knights as part of the Royals SUPER SATURDAY with all teams in action at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
