Royals men's volleyball falls to Mountaineers in five

HAMILTON, ON - The Redeemer University men's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to the Mohawk Mountaineers Saturday night at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre.
The Royals trailed 2-0 after dropping the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-22. They rallied back in sets three and four winning by scores of 25-23 and 28-26 to force a fifth and final set. In the final set, Mohawk would rally late to escape with a 15-13 home victory. With the loss, Redeemer falls to 2-2 in the OCAA West Division.
Leading the Royals was first year
Derick Breukelman (Burlington, ON) who added 11 kills and two block solos. Fourth year
Brett Jenkins (Peterborough, ON) collected eight kills, seven digs and four block solos. Fourth year
William Winkelhorst (Newcastle, ON) and second year
Patrick Belisle (Hamilton, ON) both chipped in with seven kills each in the loss. Winkelhorst moved into tie for 10th all-time in career service aces with (52).
Redeemer hit .292 for the match registering 37 kills with 16 errors on 72 total attempts. They finishing with a match high 37 service errors. Mohawk hit  .396 adding 48 kills with 12 errors on 91 attempts.
The Royals next action is this Friday November 11th at home 8pm when they host the St. Clair Saints at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
