Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Curtiss Straatsma

ROYALS STUNNED BY FALCONS

The Men's match had the Royals battling the 1-4 Fanshawe Falcons. The Falcons were off to a slow start this 2022 season picking up only one win against the Conestoga Condors. The Royals were in the hunt for their 5th win in a row to help secure a top spot in the OCAA West.

It was not the night the Royals had hoped for as the Falcons handed them their second loss of the season. The Falcons led the game from start to finish as the Royals struggled to find the consistency they needed. As the Royals entered the fourth quarter their energy sparked and it seem as though a come-from-behind win was possible as the Royals found themselves within 2-points with just under a minute and a half left in play. With a tense last few minutes in play, the Royals were unable to catch up as the Falcons sunk a few key late game baskets.

Isaiah Brinkley lead the Royals with 19 total points, supported by Goran Veselinovic with 14 points and Foster Brown recording a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Dante Richards led for the Falcons with 27 total points.

The Royals will need to turn around quickly as they are on the road today for a midday game against the No. 4 nationally-ranked Humber Hawks in Etobicoke, ON.
