Game Recap: Men's Volleyball | | Curtiss Straatsma

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SECURE SPOT IN FINAL FOUR

The Redeemer Royals Men's Volleyball team are on their way to the 2022 OCAA Men's Volleyball Final Four. Redeemer took care of the East #3 Algonquin Wolves Saturday afternoon 3-1.

The first set was back and forth throughout the first half with neither team able to build much of a lead. The Royals' consistency paid off as they were able to capture the first set 25-18 over the Wolves. 
The Wolves did not back off after the first set loss and were able to steal the second set from the Royals with a score of 25-22. The Royals then took charge for the remainder of the game. The Royals secured the third and fourth set victories with scores of 25-12, 25-15.

The Royals were led by 3rd year Brett Jenkins who recorded 17 total points from 8 kills, 2 blocks and 7 service aces. The Royals were also propelled over the Wolves from Brayden Stoffers' contribution of 13 points from 10 kills, 2 blocks and 1 service ace. William Winkelhorst and Jason Wildeboer also contributed 11 points for the Royals, including a game-high 8 service aces from Wildeboer. 

Redeemer will now advance to the semifinal Wednesday, March 16 where they will play the Canadore Panthers, the winner of their quarter-final match against the Mohawk Mountaineers. Opening serve for the semifinal match is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Canadore College in North Bay, ON.
