The Redeemer Royals Women's Basketball team will look to book their ticket to the quarter-finals on Saturday when they travel to Sarnia, ON to take on the Lambton Lions in the first round of playoff action. The winner of Saturday's match will advance.

With the re-worked 2022 schedule, the regular final 8 tournaments will not be happening, but instead, the Final Four will be hosted by the highest Women's Basketball seed on March 16th and 17th.

Redeemer earned their playoff spot with an overall season record of 3-5 finishing 6th in the OCAA West. Their opponent, the Lions, finished 3rd in the OCAA West. The Royals just returned from playing the Lions on Friday night, losing the game by a score of 68-53. The Royals will be looking for retaliation this Wednesday, March 9 at 6:00 pm.

Redeemer is led offensively and defensively by Stephanie Findlay. Averaging 23.6 points per game, sitting 2nd in the OCAA, and 11.8 rebounds per game, sitting 4th, she is a force to be reckoned with. Findlay has the strong support of Jessica Angelini and Karyn TeBrake averaging 14.8 and 14.0 points per game respectively.  While Lambton doesn't have quite the stand-out star as Findlay, Breanna Pretty is averaging 14.8 PPG and 10.1 RBG for the Lions.

The winner of Wednesday's match will advance to the OCAA Quarterfinals and have a date with the winner of the qualifying match between the #2 East ranked Algonquin Wolves, and the #7 East ranked Loyalist Lancers.

Wednesday's match gets underway at 6:00 pm at Lambton College in Sarnia and will be streamed on Royals TV.
