Women's Soccer blanks Lancers 4-0 in non-conference
ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer Royals women's soccer team defeated the Loyalist Lancers by the score of 4-0 Thursday afternoon in non-conference action to open the 2022 season.
The Royals outshot Loyalist 10-0 in the opening 45 minutes, but it was Lancer starting goalkeeper Emily Mealing coming up with some strong saves keeping the score tied 0-0 at the half.
Redeemer would continue to control the play in the second half. First year
Emily Walraven (Burlington, ON) would give the Royals a 1-0 lead at the 55 minute mark. She would take a pass from first year
Mya Sieders (Lynden, ON) and bury it past Mealing for her first goal of the campaign.
Seven minutes later ('62), Redeemer would take a 2-0 lead, as second year

Talia Vreugdenhil (Frankford, ON) for her first goal as a Royal.
The Royals would add two insurance markers in final two minutes of regulation. In the 89th minute, third year
Esther DeHaan (Smithville, ON) would find the back of the net for her first of the season. Walraven would add the assist. Walraven would record her third point of the afternoon in the 90th minute, as she took a pass from Sloots and slid it past Mealing for her first two goal performance.
In goal, Royals fifth year starter
Lilly Brown (Stoney Creek, ON) registered the shutout.
The Royals next action is September 6th at 6pm when they take on the Fleming Knights in non-conference action. They open the OCAA regular season on September 10th at 5pm when they host the Sheridan Bruins.
