Redeemer men's soccer ties Fanshawe 3-3

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University men's soccer team played to a 3-3 tie against the Fanshawe Falcons Saturday night at David Mantel Field.
The Royals opened the scoring five minutes into the opening half as third year captain
Matthew Walraven (Burlington, ON) registered his fourth goal of the season beating Fanshawe starter Daniel Gonzalez.
In the 14th minute, first year
Rayan Barbosa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) setup Walraven for his second goal of the night and fifth of the season to put Redeemer up 2-0.
The Royals would go up 3-0 in the 28th minute as first year
Brendan Vanderkruk (Flamborough, ON) buried home his second goal of the campaign. Second year
Hunter Packalen (Milton, ON) added the assist.
In the second half, Fanshawe answered back. Michael Sneddon would cut the Royals lead to two (3-1) in the 52nd minute, as he buried it past Redeemer starter
Mateo Sutic (Mississauga, ON)
The Falcons continued to apply pressure up front and it was Sneddon adding his second of the contest in the 83rd minute to make it 3-2.
In the dying seconds of regulation, Fanshawe would answer again with a goal from Anas Ayayda to tie the game 3-3.
In goal, Sutic registered eight saves in the tie. Gonzalez finished with one save.
The Royals next action is September 22nd on the road against the Conestoga Condors. Their next home action is Saturday, September 24th at 2pm when they host the Humber Hawks at Tim Hortons Field.
