WELLAND, ON - The Redeemer University men's basketball team dropped a 93-76 decision to the Niagara College Knights Wednesday night on the road.
The two teams played an even opening 20 minutes as they were tied 38-38 at the half.Â
With five minutes left in the third quarter, Niagara held a 47-44 lead, before going on a 13-6 run to close out the quarter leading 60-50 after 30 minutes.
In the final quarter, Niagara put together a 15-6 run, including three straight three-pointers from Reggie Williams, to go up by as many as 21 on route to the 93-76 home victory.
Redeemer had four players in double figures led by third year
Armeen Fazelipour (Richmond Hill, ON) who revorded 17 points and five rebounds. Fourth year
Blake Anderson (Hamilton, ON) and first year
Parker Davis (Hamilton, ON) both contributed with 12 points each. Second year
Robert Mannella (Burlington, ON) rounded out the Royals leaders adding 11 points, including 3-for-6 from long range.
Leading Niagara was Ethan Alino-Delacruz and Williams who combined for 44 points.
As a team the Royals shot 36.4% (24-66) from the field, 25.0% (6-24) from three-point land and 91.7% (22-24) from the free throw line. The Knights went 33-67 (49.3%) from the floor, 9-27 (33.3%) from beyond the arc and 81.8% (18-22) from the foul line.
