WINDSOR, ON - The Redeemer University men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to the St. Clair Saints on the road Friday night. With the loss the Royals record falls to 8-6 in the OCAA West Division.
Leading the Royals was third year
Brett Jenkins (Peterborough, ON) who recorded 10 kills, five digs, two aces and one block. With his 13 point performance, Jenkins moves into a tie for 7th all-time in Redeemer single season points with David Klomps (240). He surpassed Colin DeRaaf (228), Linden Bontkes (227), Eric Heidbuurt (228). He closes in on
Brayden Stoffers (5th - 242) and Ryan Talsma (4th - 255).
First year
Derick Breukelman (Burlington, ON) registered seven kills and five digs while second year Caleb Joosie (Peterborough, ON) added six kills and two blocks. Second year libero
Carsen Grim (Langley, BC) collected 12 digs while second year setter
Andrew Van Dyke (Guelph, ON) added 28 assists giving him 481 on the season moving him past
Daniel Wolfert (460) for fourth all-time in a single season.Â
St. Clair was led by Kale Wilkinson who led all scorers with 15 kills. Libero Blake Harnadek recorded 17 digs in the victory.
For the match, the Royals registered 36 kills with nine errors on 90 attempts for a .300 hitting efficiency. St. Clair added 34 kills with 14 errors on 92 attempts for a .217 hitting percentage.
The Royals are in action Saturday afternoon as they take on the first place Fanshawe Falcons 3pm on the road.Â
