London, ON - The Redeemer Royals women's volleyball team lost in five sets (20-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 13-15) to the Fanshawe Falcons Saturday afternoon on the road. With the loss, the Royals record falls to 7-8 in the OCAA West Division.
Leading the Redeemer offense was second year
Rachel Annett (Melbourne, ON) who recorded the double double adding a season tying 16 kills and 10 digs. First year Kate DeLong (St. Thomas, ON) registered seven kills with a .455 hitting percentage and fifth year
Victoria Pancucci (Stoney Creek, ON) added six kills with a .500 hitting percentage along with two blocks. First year
Alanna Heidbuurt (Stoney Creek, ON) who collected six kills, a career high six aces and nine digs and first year
Avery Surette (Barrie, ON) contributed with six kills, career high six aces and six digs. Second year
Alyson Stolte (Smithers, BC) rounded out the Royals scoring leaders chipping in with seven kills.
Second year setter
Brooklyn Van Rooyen (Acheson, AB) handed out 29 assists while adding five digs, two aces and one block.
For the match, Redeemer hit .258 registering 53 kills with 21 errors on 124 attempts. Fanshawe finished with a .207 hitting percentage adding 45 kills with 20 errors on 121 attempts.
The Royals return to action Thursday, February 2nd at 6pm when they host the Sheridan Bruins at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
