SARNIA, ON ā The Redeemer University women's basketball team dropped a 74ā55 decision to the LambtonĀ Lions Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Royals led at halftime 34-28. In the third quarter, Lambton put together a run, to go up by two 50ā48. In the final frame, Lambton outscored the Royals 24ā7 on-route to the 19 point victory.
Redeemer had three players and double digits led by fifth Jessica Angelini, who finished with 14 points, including four three-pointers. First year Sydney Drain and third year Kayla Simmonds both chipped in with 10 points each.
Leading the Lions offense was Maddy Bishop, who recorded a game high 24 points, including six three-pointers. Brett Fischer and Breanna Pretty chipped in with 16 and 13 points respectively.
For the game, Redeemer shot 20-57 (35.1%) from the field, 7-33 (21.2%) from three point land and 8-12 (66.7%) from the charity stripe. Lambton was 35.1% (27-77) from the floor, 37.0% (10ā27) from outside the arcĀ and 55.6%, (10ā18) from the free throw line.Ā
