Royals men's basketball falls to Lambton 101-78
SARNIA, ON - The Redeemer University men's basketball team dropped a 101-78 decision to the Lambton Lions on the road Saturday night.
Redeemer trailed 31-17 after one quarter and were down 57-33 at the half. Lambton, one of the top teams in the West last season, continued to roll going up by as many as 29 points. In the final frame, the Royals outscored the Lions 22-16.
The Royals had four players in double figures led by
Robert Mannella who finished with 16 points, including 3-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Alex Naovarath added 14 points whileÂ
Armeen Fazelipour (13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists) and
Steven Adeyemi (13 points) rounded out the leaders.
Lambton was led by JK Thomas who led all scorers with 25 points and Jerry Wilson who contributed with 20.
For the game, Redeemer shot 34.3% (24-70) from the field, 32.0% (8-25) from three-point land and 68.8% (22-32) from the free throw line. Lambton went 33-66 (50.0%) from the floor, 10-19 (52.6%) from long range and 25-34 (73.5%) from the charity stripe.
