LONDON, ON - The Redeemer women's volleyball team defeated the Fanshawe Falcons by the score of 3-1 Wednesday night on the road (21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-23). The Royals improve to 2-1 on the regular season.
Leading the Royals offense were third year
Rachel Annett who finished with 13 kills, three aces and nine digs and second year
Avery Surette who contributed with 10 kills, five aces and 11 digs. Second year
Kate DeJong chipped in with seven kills, five aces and 14 digs while second year
Joelle Lammers added six kills and four aces. Second year setter Alanna Heidburt finished with 25 assists and five digs in the victory.
The Falcons were led by Sammie Gibson who registered 12 kills and 10 digs in the loss.
For the match, Redeemer hit .178 adding 37 kills and 18 errors on 107 attempts. Fanshawe recorded 39 kills with 12 errors on 108 attempts for a .250 hitting percentage.
The Royals return to action Thursday night when they take on the St. Clair Saints in Windsor, ON.Â
