ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University men's volleyball team came out on the short end of a 3-1 loss to the Niagara Knights Wednesday night at the Redeemer Athletic Centre (21-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-20).
Leading the Royals attack was first year Jonah Heidbuurt who recorded 12 kills and
Simon Bourne who registered nine kills and five aces. Rounding out the Redeemer leaders were
Caleb Joosse (7 kills, .357 hitting percentage),
Jack Demik (5 kills, 4 blocks, .375 hitting percentage) and
Derick Breukelman (5 kills). Setter
Andrew Van Dyke added 32 assists in the loss.
Niagara was led by Micah Nieuwets who added 12 kills and Elijah Bugiardini who chipped in with eight kills. Setter Carter Thurman finished with 28 assists,
For the match, Redeemer hit .250 registering 40 kills with 17 errors on 92 attempts. The Knights recorded 46 kills with 17 errors on 83 attempts for a match high .349 hitting percentage.
