Royals men's soccer fall to Surge 3-1

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University Men's Soccer dropped a 3-1 decision against the St. Lawrence Surge Saturday afternoon at home.
St. Lawrence took an early lead at 8:44, with Jacob Ball finding the back of the net, assisted by Leonardo Couto. The Redeemer team faced a setback at 9:48 when an own goal gave their opponents an advantage.
St. Lawrence continued to control the pace of the game, extending their lead at 25:10 with another goal from Jacob Ball.
The Redeemer team showed resilience and fought back later in the second half, with
Hunter Packalen setting up
Brendan Vanderkruk at 73:40 for the Royals only goal of the match.
Redeemer registered 14 shots, six of which were on goal. St. Lawrence registered 13 shots, seven on goal.
Royals starting goalkeeper
Adam Katerberg suffered the loss despite registering five saves throughout the match.
The Royals return to action August 30th when they take on the Fleming College Knights on the road.
