Royals women's soccer ranked Nationally for first time in program history

vsHumber-WalravenANCASTER, ON - For the first time in program history, the Redeemer University Women's Soccer team. have secured a prestigious national ranking, standing in the 13th position across the CCAA. In addition, they have claimed a third place ranking in the OCAA.

"Being nationally ranked is a testament to the hard work that everyone puts in on the field everyday," said Royals head coach Meaghan Rudd. "We know what we need to do and we believe in each other and we do it together. We are building something real special here and doing it all with a Vertical Purpose."

This historic milestone reflects the dedication, hard work, and talent of both the players and coaching staff. Notably, in her inaugural year at the helm in 2022, Head Coach Meaghan Rudd led the team to a fantastic season, tying the school record with five wins. The Royals concluded the season with an impressive 5-3-2 record in the regular season and an overall record of 7-5-2.

"While our women's soccer team has achieved the remarkable feat of being nationally ranked for the first time ever, their success goes beyond the scoreboard. These young women have demonstrated selflessness, unity, and unwavering faith in each other. They have embraced the Vertical, and we could not be more excited for everyone associated with the program. The product on the field today results from many years of hard work and commitment from past players and coaches. We are excited to see how it finishes, but embrace the national recognition," commented Director of Athletics James Kryger.

The Royals are off to a fantastic start this season, currently boasting a 2-0-1 record. This week, they have two key conference matchups in No. 8 ranked Humber Wednesday on the road and St. Clair College Friday at home.
