WELLAND, ON The Royals were in the Niagara region Wednesday night before they made their way to the NCCAA National Championships Thursday. The Knights are two spots above the Royals and sitting in 6th place. Historically Redeemer and Niagara have been fierce competitors with an all-time record of 11-13 in favor of the Knights. The last five match-ups have seen an even split five wins aside. Wednesday's clash was the tie-breaker for the last ten record.
The Knights were victorious in this match, settling the last 10 split. Redeemer fought into overtime in sets two and three, however, they fell in four sets.
Gannon Hart had an outstanding performance after being subbed into the game late in the second set. Hart dished 16 assists and conducted a smooth offense for the Royals.
Caleb Joosse lead the Royals offensively posting 15 points and a .348 hitting percentage.
Men's volleyball travels to Rochester, NY to participate in their first NCCAA National Championship. The Royals are ranked 2nd in the tournament and begin their quest for a national championship on Friday at noon.
