Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Royals Advance to OCAA Final Four

ANCASTER, ON. Redeemer Women's Soccer hosted their OCAA Quarter Final match Saturday afternoon. Redeemer welcomed the east division four seed Cambrian Shield. Saturday's match was accompanied with beautiful weather for the RU Royals Family who filled the stands.

Redeemer fans did not need to wait long to get on their feet. Thirty seconds into the match Alia Breukelman broke down the right sideline and crossed a ball into the box. Meeting the ball was Joelle Mitton who struck it into the top corner. Redeemer carried this momentum throughout the match.

Redeemer was back to their typical play that we know and love. The Royals maintained the majority of possession and brought a flurry of shots.

The Royals second goal came nine minutes after the first. Alia Breukelman found the back of the net this time for the Royals. Redeemer tallied 16 shots in the first half to Cambrian's 1.  Cambrian was held shotless for the remainder of the game.

Redeemer entered the second half with all the momentum. Nine minutes into the second half Joelle Mitton added her second goal of the game to extend the Royals lead to 3.

Redeemer closed out the match 3-0 and awaits their semi-final opponent to be determined. Their next opponent will be either the Humber Hawks or the Centennial Colts.

Redeemer advances to the OCAA Final Four that will be hosted by the Seneca Sting. The Royals will play their semi-final match Friday. The time for the semi-final is to be determined.
