ANCASTER, ON. The Redeemer Royals travelled to Etobicoke, ON to face the Humber Hawks. This is the first match between the two sides this season. The Humber Hawks have gotten off to an impressive 5-0 start and find themselves near the top of the standings.
The Humber Hawks showed why they are a naturally ranked team all match long. Right from the opening tip-off the Hawks brought the pressure to the Royals. Humber spread their offense perfectly making it nearly unstoppable. Nine different Hawks added points to the board in their opening quarter as they jumped to 30-11 lead.
Humber did not look back. Extending their lead quickly the Hawks soared to a victory over the Royals 113-65. The Royals did not give up until the final whistle. Redeemer posted competitive third and fourth quarters trying to narrow the early Humber lead.
Stand-out performer for the Royals was
Robert Mannella. The senior guard shot 50% from behind the arc and recorded a team-high 15 points.
The Royals next match is against the Sheridan Bruins on Tuesday, November 19th.Â
