ANCASTER,ON. Redeemer Royals Women's Basketball hosted their final match of the first semester Wednesday night. The Niagara Knights lead the West division with a 6-1 record and a three-game win streak. Redeemer looked to end the semester on a high note with an upset victory.
The first quarter action was close and competitive. The top-seed Knights climbed to a small eight-point lead through the opening ten minutes of play. Redeemer guard
Sydney Drain kept the Royals in the match with her 7 first-quarter points.
Niagara found their groove in the second quarter and extended their lead. At halftime, Niagara led 45-17.
The Royals struggled to establish their offence against one of the best defensive teams in the OCAA. Niagara continued to play outstanding defence, complimented by a diverse offence. Niagara extended their lead in the third and fourth quarters.
The Royals fall to the Knights 78-34. Redeemer is back in action next semester on January 9th, 2025 when they host the Fanshawe Falcons.
