Royals Receive Seventeen NCCAA Awards in Fall Semester

ANCASTER, ON. The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced its fall award winners this past week. Redeemer has three teams in the fall semester of the NCCAA, which include men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball. 

The Royals were prominent in each sport's respective awards. Women's volleyball received four awards. Third-year outside hitter Avery Surette was named to the Midwest All-Region Second Team. Additionally, Surette received Scholar-Athlete recognition alongside teammates Kate Dejong and Alyson Stolte.

Redeemer men's soccer had seven award winners. Fourth-year captain Hunter Packalen led the Royals with an NCCAA Midwest All-Region First Team selection. Four Royals athletes were also named to the Midwest All-Region Second Team, which included Matthew Derks, Derek Proulx, Brendan Vanderkruk, and Carter Vanderkruk.  Two additional Royals received recognition for their efforts in the classroom as Rayan Barbosa and Eli Mudde were named Scholar-Athletes. 

The Royals women's soccer team continued to add to their historic season with six more awards. Mia Palango was named to the Division I NCCAA National Championship All-Tournament Team. Ivana and Adriana Kanisek were named to the Midwest All-Region team for their efforts during the regular season. Three Royals were also recognized for their academic performance. Ivana Kanisek, Tia Lee and Morgan DeWeerd were named Scholar-Athletes.

Redeemer Royals student-athletes continue to impress both on and off the playing surface. The NCCAA announces their men's and women's Basketball and men's Volleyball award winners in the Spring of 2025.
