Kruisselbrink Continues to Shine at St. Clair Invitational
ANCASTER, ON Redeemer Cross-country travelled to Windsor, ON for their first meet of the 2024 campaign. The course at Malden Park will also play host to the CCAA National Championships later this fall. Saturday's race was an excellent warm-up run for the Royals who look to qualify for the National Championships.
Leading the Royals yet again was fourth-year star runner
Ethan Kruisselbrink. The Owen Sound native is no stranger to the front of the pack. Last season Kruisselbrink was a regular top-five finisher and is certainly amongst the Royals' all-time best. Ethan's opening race saw him finish 5th, posting a 27:56 total time and a 3:30 min/km pace. Close behind was first-year athlete
Denver Packalen who finished 15th. Denver ran a 29:02 total time and a 3:38 min/km pace.
Matteo Cristiano placed 44th.
The solo runner on the Women's side also had a solid start to the season. The multi-time CCAA national qualifying runner Thea Van Halten finished 18th. Thea ran a 29:09 total time with a 4:52 min/km pace.
The Royals are back in action next weekend when they travel to the Seneca Sting Invitational.
