SARNIA, ON - The Redeemer Royals women's basketball team hit the road Friday night to face the Lambton Lions, falling 65–40 in their second game of the OCAA season.
Lambton set the tone early, jumping out to a 16–6 lead after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 36–17 by halftime. The Royals battled back with a strong third quarter and fourth quarter. However, Lambton closed out the game to secure the win.
Despite the loss, the Royals had a major highlight on the night. Forward
Talia Vreugdenhil made program history, setting a new Redeemer record for rebounds in a single game with 22. She also led the team offensively with 10 points, notching a hard-fought double-double performance.
The Royals will look to carry that energy and effort into their next matchup as they continue OCAA regular-season play.
