ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer men's basketball team wrapped up their first semester on Saturday with an 85–73 loss to the Fanshawe Falcons. Similar to the women's matchup earlier in the day, Redeemer hung tight through the opening quarter before Fanshawe built momentum in the second. The Falcons outscored Redeemer by nine in the frame, creating the gap that the Royals were unable to close in the second half.
Redeemer was led by OCAA scoring leader
Parker Davis, who delivered the best performance of his career. Davis poured in 39 points, the second-highest single-game total in program history. The only Royal to ever score more is three-time All-Canadian Rayvon Higdon, who set the record with 41 points on March 1, 2018. Davis now ties Eric Bulthuis, who also recorded 39 points in 2004. In addition to his scoring, Davis added six rebounds, six steals, and one assist in a tremendous all-around outing.
Redeemer faced challenges on the glass, being heavily out-rebounded throughout the contest, which limited their ability to generate second-chance opportunities and slow Fanshawe's momentum.
With the first semester now complete, the Royals turn their focus to the winter schedule. The team has shown steady improvement and will look to carry that progression into the new year.
