Royals Close Semester in Loss to Falcons

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer Royals wrapped up their first-semester schedule on Saturday afternoon, falling 85–45 to the Fanshawe Falcons. Fanshawe, one of the stronger teams in the OCAA, pushed the pace early, but Redeemer held their ground through the opening quarter and trailed by just three after ten minutes.

The second quarter proved to be the turning point. The Royals managed only three points in the frame, allowing Fanshawe to build a 19-point halftime lead that Redeemer was unable to erase as the game progressed.

Despite the loss, there were clear positives for the Royals, particularly on the glass. Redeemer out-rebounded Fanshawe 44–33, showing grit and hustle throughout the contest. Talia Vreugdenhil led the way with a game-high 12 rebounds, and every Royal recorded at least one board. Those efforts translated into second-chance opportunities, where Redeemer held an 18–11 advantage.

Saturday's matchup concludes the first semester for the Royals. Although the record may not fully reflect their potential, Redeemer has shown promising stretches of play. With a healthier lineup expected in the second semester, the group is poised to compete for more wins as they enter the new year.
