ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer Royals men's basketball team delivered an exciting comeback win on Wednesday night, defeating the Conestoga Condors 86-82 in front of their home crowd.
After a tight opening quarter, Redeemer trailed 23-20 and went into halftime down 43-39. The Royals came out strong in the second half, feeding off the energy of the crowd and locking in defensively to take a narrow 60-59 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the final frame, the Royals sealed the win behind a spectacular performance from
Parker Davis, who caught fire down the stretch. Davis scored 15 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter, finishing an impressive 15-for-23 from the field. His clutch scoring and composure under pressure proved to be the difference in the contest.
Thomaz Barbosa also made a major impact, recording 17 points and leading the team with 8 rebounds.Â
Redeemer will now turn its attention to a major test ahead as they face the reigning national champions, the Humber Hawks, in their next matchup next week.
