ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer Royals women's volleyball team earned a massive 3–2 victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers on Wednesday night in front of a packed home crowd during Hammer Hunger Night, an evening dedicated to collecting non-perishable food items for local Hamilton charities.
Just like their previous meeting, the Royals and Mountaineers went the distance, with Redeemer once again coming out on top in five sets. The scores were 23–25, 25–18, 19–25, 25–17, and 15–5.
Kate de Jong powered the Royals' offence with an impressive 20 points, while setter
Alana DeJong distributed the ball, finishing with 36 assists. Redeemer's efficiency on attack proved to be the difference, as the Royals found their rhythm late and dominated the decisive fifth set.
The win marks a statement performance for Redeemer, who continue to excel early in the season. The Royals improve to 3-1 on the season and look ahead to their next match against the Conestoga Condors.
