ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer Royals men's volleyball team delivered a strong 3–0 victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers on Wednesday night, earning an important win early in the season. The result splits the season series between the two rivals and gives Redeemer valuable momentum moving forward.
Set scores were 25–23, 25–16, and 25–20.
Despite a shaky start from both sides, with each team tallying close to double-digit service errors in the opening set, the Royals settled in and found their rhythm. Redeemer was efficient when it mattered most, taking advantage of key scoring opportunities and cleaning up their serve game as the match progressed.
Simon Bourne led the Royals with 11 points, while
Silas Breukelman turned in an excellent performance, adding 8 points and hitting an impressive .444. Second-year setter
Ben Brouwer sealed the win with a service ace, sending the packed crowd into celebration.
It was another electric night at Redeemer, as the Royals fed off the energy of a full gym to close out a crucial sweep over their Hamilton rivals.
Redeemer looks ahead to their next match against the nationally ranked Conestoga Condors on November 15th at 3:00 PM.
