Rudd Adds Three Promising Recruits Ahead of Fall Campaign

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer Royals Women's Soccer program is pleased to announce the signing of three new student-athletes: Tautiana Pellegrino, Naomi Cook, and Naomi Alkema.

From Brantford, Ontario, Tatiana Pellegrino is a graduate of St. John's College and played her club soccer with Woodstock FC. Reflecting on how her faith will shape her time at Redeemer, Pellegrino shared, "I will use my faith to impact my time at Redeemer as a student athlete by helping me balance everything and not overwhelm myself. It also helps me focus on the bigger picture rather than just about my wins and losses. The season is also about growth, the growth within myself as an athlete and in my faith." She also noted that what excites her most is the team culture, adding, "Even during the summer camp sessions, the girls were so welcoming—it just makes you feel like that's where you belong."

Naomi Cook, a defender from Hamilton, Ontario, attended Hamilton District Christian High School and played for Paris FC. She spoke about the connection between her faith and her sport, saying, "Soccer is one way I can use the gifts that God gave me to glorify Him. Because I know Him, while playing, I can focus on sportsmanship and not on unhealthy competition, and continually bring my faith into the way I play. I am excited to be a part of something bigger at Redeemer to make a positive impact in college sports." Looking ahead, Cook also highlighted Redeemer's game-day environment, remarking, "The support from the fans is incredible, and it seems like an amazing community."

Hamilton native Naomi Alkema joins the Royals as a midfielder. A graduate of Guido de Brès Christian High School, Alkema played for Ancaster Legacy. She summarized how she plans to use her faith while at Redeemer, stating, "Christ at the centre of everything, whether on the field, in the classroom or off campus."

The Redeemer Royals look forward to welcoming Pellegrino, Cook, and Alkema to the program as they begin their university careers this fall.
