KITCHENER, ON - The Redeemer Royals women's basketball team hit the road to face the Conestoga Condors and came away with a 61–42 loss.
The Royals kept the game within reach through the first half, trailing by just seven points at the break after a competitive opening 20 minutes. Redeemer battled on both ends of the floor and stayed connected by limiting second-chance opportunities and pushing the tempo in transition.
The third quarter proved to be the turning point, as the Condors were able to create separation with a strong run coming out of halftime. Conestoga extended its lead during the frame, forcing Redeemer to play from behind for the remainder of the contest.
Individually, the Royals had several standout performances. Guard
Sydney Lazenby led all Redeemer scorers with a career-high 20 points, adding nine rebounds, two assists, and four steals in an all-around effort.
Talia Vreugdenhil also made her presence felt in the paint, recording a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Redeemer will look to build on the strong individual showings as they regroup and prepare for their next matchup.
