Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Davis Makes History in Loss at Canadore

NORTH BAY, ON – The Redeemer Royals men's basketball team traveled up Highway 11 to take on the Canadore Panthers in beautiful North Bay, Ontario on Saturday night.

Coming off a win against the Knights, the Royals were looking to keep the good vibes going up in Northern Ontario.

The first quarter was almost as tight as it could get. The Panthers outscored the Royals 21-20. Parker Davis led the way for both teams with 8 PTs in the opening quarter.

The second quarter saw Redeemer take some momentum, outscoring Canadore 28-19. Thomaz Barbossa's 7 PTs and Bright Boateng's 6 PTs were big parts of the offensive explosion for the Royals. They led 48-40 at halftime.

The third quarter saw the pendulum swing the other way. The Panthers gained all the momentum, outscoring Redeemer 33-15 and taking a 73-63.

The Panthers would maintain that ten-point lead through the fourth. Both teams scored 32 points in the final frame, ending in a 105-95 victory for the home team.  Lucas Macklem's valiant 12 PT-effort in the fourth was the highlight of the quarter for Redeemer.

However, this game wouldn't go without its positives. Parker Davis continued to etch his way into Royals history, becoming the 6th Royal EVER to reach 1000 career points, as his 26 PT effort helps PD12 become PD1K.

The Royals will look to get back in the win column when they travel to take on the Conestoga Condors in Kitchener. Tipoff at 3:00pm on Saturday, November 7th.
