It likely was not how Coach Grootenboer drew it up, but an effective final 20 minutes on Saturday gave the Redeemer Royals men's soccer team a much needed 5-3 win over the Lambton Lions. After falling behind 3-1, Redeemer scored 4 unanswered goals late in the second half to secure the season series win against the Lions in Sarnia.
Redeemer's
Lewis Tuininga netted a hat-trick for the Royals while rookies
Noah Murray and
Jonathan Pereboom also found the back of the net.
After pulling out a dramatic 2-1 win against Lambton in the home opener on September 12th, Redeemer found themselves once again needing to rely on a late surge to grab themselves valuable points on the road.
With the win, Redeemer improves their record to 2-1.
The Royals return to the confines of their home field for their next league match on Saturday September 26th against St. Clair.
