The Durham Lords looked like their 16-2 regular season record was a bit deceiving when they dropped the first two sets to the 12-6 Redeemer Royals, but the Lords stormed back and won a thrilling five-setter at the OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship presented by belairdirect.
Durham scored a 21-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-15, 15-12 win over Redeemer at Mohawk College Thursday (Feb. 23).
Andrew Dube had 16 kills and two service aces, to pace the Lords. Andrew Watson had 15 kills, and three stuff blocks. Erik Janssen collected 10 kills and John Pham put up 48 assists.
Linden Bontkes had 13 kills and two blocks for the Royals.
Mitchell Harris tallied 10 kills and three aces.
Pearson Stiller had 27 assists.
Harris was named Redeemer's player of the game, while Harrison Wood took the honour for Durham.
The Lords will face Fanshawe in the semi finals Friday at 6:00 pm at Mohawk's David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre in Hamilton.
