Redeemer's Owen Kurvits will play for National Bronze on Saturday. The CCAA Player of the Year will be attempting to earn his 3rd Canadian Championship medal as he finishes up his collegiate career at this year's event. Owen will be looking to add a bronze medal to his trophy case to accompany his gold and silver national medals.
After sweeping through the round robin with a 4-1 record, Kurvits advanced to the semi finals on Friday evening. In a thrilling 3-set semi final match, Pacwest's Graydon Robb pulled off the upset, knocking Kurvits out of gold medal contention. After winning the first set 21-17, Kurvits dropped the next two sets 23-21 and 21-18.
Owen will now look to reach the podium one more time on Saturday as he squares off against Connor Reinson for National Bronze.Â
