ROYALS LOOKING TO SCORE FIRST WIN AGAINST HAMILTON RIVALS

Both Redeemer Soccer Programs face Mohawk Tuesday in search of their first season wins

After a dramatic comeback victory for the men's soccer team against the Fanshawe Falcons last week, the Royals will be thirsty for their first win of the season Tuesday night when they face their Hamilton rival. Both women's and men's soccer teams will welcome the Mohawk Mountaineers to the Royals Sports Complex for an evening tilt at 6pm and 8pm.

The men's team netted two late goals in their home opener to steal back a point from the Falcons in a 2-2 tie. Wes Schilstra converted a penalty kick while Alfonso Coto  scored the equalizing goal in injury time with a strike from just inside the 18-yard box.

The men's team enters the contest against Mohawk with a 0-1-1 record. Mohawk sits at 1-2 on the season with their latest match a 3-1 loss to the Falcons.

On the women's side, the Lady Royals will look to bounce back after a tough start to the season. The women's team faced two of the top teams in the Province in their first two matches and hold a 0-2 record entering Tuesday's match against the Mountaineers. Mohawk is 2-1 this Fall. Despite the two losses for the Royals, Redeemer's Cara Nash (Mahomet, IL USA) has been phenomenal in net with 38 saves in the two matches.
