HIGDON MAKES HISTORY, BECOMES REDEEMER'S CAREER POINTS LEADER

Rayvon Higdon breaks Redeemer's all-time career points record

Redeemer's Rayvon Higdon has etched his name in the Royal record books by becoming the first player in program history to record 1014 total points. With his 7th point on Friday night against the Fanshawe Falcons, Higdon became Redeemer's all-time career points leader in men's basketball.

The previous record was held by alumni Jordan DeWeger who scored a program-best 1013 points over his career as a Royal.

To join the 1000 point club is not a small feat in OCAA Basketball. Ray is just the 2nd Royal ever to surpass this number in Men's Basketball (DeWeger being the other). Only 3 other Redeemer Royals have posted 1000+ point careers. Women's basketball players Jesseca Brown (Current Redeemer and OCAA Career Point Leader) and Lindsay Moffatt and Women's Volleyball player Curtiss Straatsma (Current Redeemer and OCAA Career Point Leader) are also in the club.

Higdon finished the game with 15 points and his career total will continue to grow with every remaining game of the season.

Individually it was a great night for Higdon and the same can be said for the team. The Royals picked up their 10th win of the season and exacted some revenge on the Falcons who handed the Royals their first (and only) loss of the season on November 23rd. Final score of Friday's game was 73-67.

Higdon will get his first chance to add to his total on Saturday when the Royals play their second game of the weekend. Redeemer travels to Niagara to face a tough Knights team on the road.
